As per latest Pollution emergency has been declared by Delhi Government and schools have been closed till 5^th November 2019. As many of you heard about N95 and N99, but don’t know which one is best. So, here I can help you to select the best mask for you within your range.

Terminology and Differences

N: Not Oil Resistant (It can save you from Airborne Particulates only)

R: Oil Resistant (It can save you from Airborne Particulates and Oil-Based pollutants for some time.)

P: Oil Proof (It can save you from Airborne Particulates as well as Oil-Based pollutants properly.)

95: It means, it can stop up to 95% Airborne Particulate present in air. (PM 2.5)

99: It means, it can stop up to 99% Airborne Particulate present in air. (PM 2.5)
100: It means, it can stop up to 100% Airborne Particulate present in air. (PM 2.5)

Now, you have understood from the above terminology that, if we compare N95 and N99 then, N99 is better that N95, and if we compare N95, R95 and P95 then, P95 is best.

Surgical Mask are also available in the market starting from @ ₹ 5/- mostly used by Doctors, but these types of masks are useless. Surgical mask can’t protect you so, in my opinion if you have surgical mask, I’ll suggest you to purchase a new one for you according to your need. And I’ll personally recommend you to buy N99 or R95 because P95 is too expansive to buy.
