Vivo U20 Full Review

Vivo launched U10 last year with great value for money specs inorder to compete with Redmi and Realme. Vivo U20 which launched this year also have the same motive. It have great specs for the price and give tough competition to both the Companies. It have covered all the area that a budget phone should have. Today we are gonna do a full review of the handset itself. I am going to divide the review between the pro's and con's.
First let us take a look of the pro's of the device.

Pros

1. Design and Build quality

The Vivo U20 has a diamension of 162.15×76.47×8.89 and weights about 190 gram. It has a shiny polycarbonate back which looks great. The phone has a tear drop notch towards the front and the glass in the front itself is protected by Panda glass. Vivo claims panda glass is more durable compared to gorilla but in my usage I feel both are neck to neck in term of durability. U20 has a triple camera setup to the back. It has a hybrid sim slot with dedicated macro SD card slot for expandable storage. The phone has a single firing loud speaker and an headphone jack to the bottom. Design and build quality wise there is no compromisation from Vivo.

2.Display

It has a 6.53 inch IPS full HD+ display and has a 84.4 % screen to body ratio. Pixel Density per inch is 395. The viewing angles are great in this device and is easily visible under direct sunlight. Infact this phone has the best display under 11,000. If you want a phone with great display on a Budget then you should surely have a look at this phone.

3.Performance

The Vivo U20 is powered by the Snapdragon 675 which is a great power efficient chipset and also the best chipset you could get In this price. The 675 processor is paired by an Adreno 612 gpu. The phone has a Cpu core ( 2×2.0 GHz kryo 460 gold & 6×1.7 GHz kryo 460 silver).  When it comes to day to day task and even extensive gaming the phone doesn't lag. Infact it runs anything you throw at it smoothly. It is best performing phone you could get at this price.

4.Battery

The phone has a huge 5000 Mah battery which easily last for two days even with heavy use. The phone also contain a 18 W fast charger inside the box which charges the phone in 1 and a half hours which is great at this budget. So if you want a phone with good battery backup and fast charger Vivo U20 is your pick.

5.Audio

The phone has a single firing loud speaker towards the bottom. Vivo has always given good speaker with their phone's and it's nothing different with this device too. It has a great speaker with good quality of bass and treble. The phone also has an headphone jack which is also quiet good.

Now let's take a look at the con's of the device

•Con's

1.Camera

Vivo has a triple camera setup with a primary sensor of 16 MP f/1.8 paired with a 8MP f/2.2 Ultrawide lens and an 2 MP f/2.4 macro lens.  The back camera take's decent photos with back camera but at night the phone struggles a lot. The phone also has a16 MP selfie camera which also take's dcenet photo. But when you compare the photo's with other phone in this segment you could really feel the difference. Infact if you want a camera centric smartphone then Vivo U20 is not your choice.

2.Software

The phone has android 9 out of the box and runs custom android skin named Funtouch os. It's more of an iOS inspired rom and has many Features similar to iOS interface. But when you look at the interface it's not all fresh with over designed app layout and overly animation. The Funtouch os has it's own customisation and features but over all it doesn't provide great user interface.

Conclusion

Over all Vivo U20 is the best budget smartphone  that you can buy in the lower budget segment. It has all the basic elements covered and provide a very powerful chipset and a great battery life.Only thing you need to compromise is the Camera which isn't that worse but you could get better camera performance in other devices. In my opinion Vivo U20 is the best buy if you are on a tight budget and want a great phone.
