GOOGLE PIXEL 4 AND PIXEL 4XL: DECENT BUT WITH BAD NEWS FOR INDIA

THE GOOGLE PIXEL 4/ PIXEL 4XL LAUNCHED : GOOGLE'S FLAGSHIPS 2019

The most leaked smartphone of the year the GOOGLE PIXEL 4/4XL is now launched in the Google event in NEW YORK. There are lot of things to talk about some areas where a Google did good job and some areas where GOOGLE disappoints us.

6. Is it Worth it?

1.The Design

This phone brings a whole new design to the pixel line up. On the back you get a square camera bump which has dual rear camera and laser autofocus and led flash. the PIXEL has matte back finish and matte black sides. On the side power button and volume buttons the power button is a different colour from the overall phone. There is no headphone jack single speaker on the bottom and type C port.
On the front there is no notch but a huge bezel which makes it look a phone from 2017 on from the front side because we have seen designs that gives almost bezel less experience. But this big bezel has it's reason to be there to fit all the sensor needed for there new MOTION SENSE sense technology. 

2.Display

The display is flat no curves but still a very good looking display you get full HD+ OLED on the PIXEL 4 and QUAD HD+ OLED display on the PIXEL 4XL . Both the displays are 90HZ panels so it's is super smooth. And 90HZ refresh rate adjust as what app you are using and you looking at PIXEL or not and accordingly will adjust the frame rate. Brightness is accurate HDR support is also there but not the largest displays. The PIXEL 4 has 5.7 inch display and PIXEL 4 XL has 6.3 inch Display.

3.Camera

The cameras are always the best part of any PIXEL phone and this time is no different. There are two cameras one is main 16MP camera with 12MP telephoto camera and with Google's software you will able take crip detailed images even when you zoomed in 5x. But the disappointing part is there is no ultra wide camera. We were hoping that how good would be ultra wide camera from the best camera phone but disappointment here. One tap on screen gives you control of brightness and to adjust exposure. The image processing is more faster than ever.
Talking about camera then the night mode of the PIXEL is the features that everyone loves and this time PIXEL takes it further with their astrophotography. If your phone is on tripod it will capture 15 frames and combines them to give you next level low light photos.
The front camera is now a single 8MP compared to last year's PIXEL 3XL but the front camera still very wide.

4.Software

Software the best thing about GOOGLE PIXEL phones. This comes with latest ANDROID 10 and 3 years of security updates promise. This time the GOOGLE ASSISTANT is built into the software and will perform better for example you ask assistant to "show me David Beckham on twitter" and then say "now on Instagram" here the assistant will understand that you still talking about David Beckham, so it will open David Beckham instagram account.
The new  PIXEL4/4XL now no longer has unlimited Google photos storage which is a very disappointing thing to see because the staring inbuilt storage is 64Gb and goes upto 128GB.
One cool thing is the PIXEL recorder which records calls and can convert them into text and can search specific words which were said during the conversation.

The PIXEL phones have been decent performers with whatever battery capacity they have but here it is an concern. The PIXEL 4XL has a 3700mah battery which you can say is decent but the PIXEL 4 has only 2800mah battery. Have you seen this small battery in any smartphone recently. That's an disappointing thing. Both the phones comes with 18W charger.

5.Motion sense

The most unusual feature of the phone.
The pixel will know if are around it . So this allows it to get itself ready to unlock when you reach out to it and turn the resolution down and refresh rate when you are away to save Battery.
The depth sensor which gives you more secure face unlocking. But there is no fingerprint scanner.
And the last is gesture control
Now you can snooze your alarms,change tracks
It's not the first time you have seen in a smartphone but it's now more practical.

6.Is it Worth It

The price starts at 799$ (US) for 64GB and goes upto 999$ for 6GB+ 128GB . It is not a perfect phone there are some disadvantages like

• No fingerprint scanner
• No wide angle camera
• Big bezels
• Not good enough battery
• No stereo speakers
• Still Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 no 855+

But it has the best software. Great camera (we wish there were  a wide angle camera). New gesture controls which you might not use but still it's an decent feature.
So PIXEL 4 and PIXEL 4 XL are not the perfect phone but they are good. And we think that as every year this PIXEL years camera wil be the best smartphone camera in a smartphone. 

BAD NEWS FOR INDIA:

Now comes the bad news for us these PIXEL 4/ PIXEL 4XL  will not launch in India. Yes no PIXEL 4/PIXEL 4XL. The reason behind it the new motion sensor in the PIXEL 4/PIXEL 4XL. one of the Google official said during the launch that "we decided not to make PIXEL 4 available in india". The GOOGLE PIXEL 4 has the radar sensor, the project SOLI of Google named MOTION SENSE. This works on 60GHz spectrum. Which is not licensed in India. so no PIXEL 4 for India. Disappointing to see GOOGLE is letting go the big Market india for the PIXEL 4 but the spoke person said they will bring future products to india but not the PIXEL 4.
