All are alternative of each other and every operating system have something different from all and which make them unique.



We can't compare MacOS to other Operating because it is only make for Apple devices and it's not for every company devices not like Windows and Linux.

Most of all Linux os are free(some os are paid) and Windows are paid charge for windows is approximately 99$ or more and this a major difference between Linux and Windows. This is plus point of Linux.

#Open source 

Windows is not open source but Linux is open source operating system.
Now question generate what is open source?

In simple language we give definition In which operating system you can change functions and other things and submit it to company and if they like they will add your changes in new update. it called open source operating system. 

#Software available



Many software are available for windows and Linux operating system but for Linux many windows software are not available. 
This is minus point of Linux. You can many windows softwares on Linux which not available for Linux by software call WINE for Linux. 

But you won't get Good performance because it is not available for Linux but we force to run on Linux. 

#Gaming 

Some people are like play games and they are bought pc/Laptop for gaming. 

When i tested some games in windows and Linux i will saw Linux can't run games well compared to windows and you won't get good FPS performance if you use you pc for gaming forget Linux.

#Updates and support



In windows and Linux both are same of updates and support.
So we won't talk about it more. 

Linux and windows are updated their OS regularly and this is same of both.

Support is priority and windows and Linux are provided support by community.

#Security




We give highest priority for security. This a main factor and Linux won this because Linux security is better than windows.
Linux is better for regularly security updates compare to windows.

Linux gives more freedom for use and it's some version like kali linux is mostly developed for pro men like erthical hacker.
